"Testing Mics Again"

This
is a very silly song that I wrote to help directly compare
microphones with. Everything is constant except for the microphone
used. The signal chain is microphone->Grace 101 preamp ->
Akai DPS16 24-bit recording THEN inserted -> RNC Compressor
-> TC Electronics M-One XL Reverb Processor -> digital back
in to Akai.. The results were mastered using Izotope Ozone. No EQ
was applied to the vocal track or to the resulting final mix for
comparison purposes.
All
voices except for the electric guitar are from the Yamaha Motif 8
workstation. The Motif voices were processed using a RNP preamp.
The electric guitars were recorded in three tracks - two tracks
recorded using a Shure SM57 on a Marshall AVT20 amp and one track
recorded direct using a POD XT.
The first version
below has no vocal. If you want to mix in your own vocal with any
mic, I'll be happy to include it on this page!
